What Torivela does and does not do

• Torivela lets someone you paired with securely earlier confirm or reject an exactly described request.
• Torivela does not prove who is calling or writing, does not check bank accounts or payments, is not an insurer, bank, police or legal adviser, and cannot guarantee that a device or person has not been hacked or is not under pressure.
• Answers from the assistant are suggestions, not advice and not a security decision.

Who may create an account

You must be 16 or older and use your own email address. One person per account.

Free answering and paid use

• Anyone with an account can answer requests addressed to them by a paired contact for free.
• Sending requests yourself is only possible within a family plan. A free responder does not have to pay and does not count as a paying family member.

Inviting and pairing

Only invite people you know. An invitation is not proof of identity; a pairing only exists after comparing the safety words together and both confirming with your own passkey.

No misuse

• You may not use Torivela to harass, follow, pressure or defraud anyone, or to impersonate someone else.
• Everyone can block, mute and report contacts. In case of misuse we may (temporarily) restrict an account; you will be told why and can object.

Your account is yours

• The owner of a family plan cannot view or take over your passkeys, confirmations or private data and cannot confirm on your behalf.
• Protect your device, password and recovery codes. Report a lost or stolen device immediately in the Security centre.

Quality, outages and updates

• We make sure Torivela does what you may reasonably expect, including security updates. During an outage you cannot have a request confirmed: no answer never means ‘yes’. Call back yourself.
• In case of defects you have the statutory rights for digital services, such as repair, price reduction or termination.

Liability

• We are liable as provided by law. We do not exclude liability that may not be excluded under mandatory consumer law, such as for intent or gross negligence.
• Because Torivela is a tool and not a guarantee, it remains important to call back yourself when in doubt and to consult your bank.

Intellectual property

The software, design and texts of Torivela belong to [še ni na voljo] or its licensors. You may use them for this service. Torivela is a provisional working name; there is no trademark registration.

Changes

If we change these terms to your disadvantage, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. You can then cancel before the change takes effect.

Applicable law and disputes

• Dutch law applies. If you live in another EU country, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory rules.
• A complaint? Use the complaints form first. If we cannot resolve it, you can go to the competent court in the Netherlands or where you live. We are not affiliated with a disputes committee.
